Serenia Residences, a series of condominiums taking shape on a 100-metre stretch of private beachfront land is anticipated to debut by the end of 2019.

Located in Talpe, Galle – on what has been called Sri Lanka's "Golden Mile" – the complex, which was planned by a-design studio and Serenia director Sabina Karunanayake, will feature a wealth of restorative facilities, including a 6,000 sq ft (557.4 sq m) infinity pool, "swim-up bar", indoor and outdoor spas, a seafood restaurant, a cinema, and children-designated recreation areas.

Yoga studios and a fitness centre will round of the retreat's wellness and leisure amenities.

The getaway will also boast 47 smart residences and suites, all of which will be fitted with Massimo Campagni-designed kitchens and wrap-around terraces. A few of the condos will also have plunge pools.

Speaking to ARTRA Magazine, Karunanayake called the property a "sanctuary" that evokes the seaside district's ubiquitous sunlight and the ocean’s "boundless energy".

"Serenia is not the stereotypical concrete high-rise," she added.

Construction on the residences, which commenced in October 2018, is being undertaken by Access Projects.

Prices start at US$320,000 (€283,766, £244,648) for a two-bedroom apartment.
