Mandarin Oriental Lake Como delivers the perfect destination for a relaxing wellness retreat

Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como opened this week, following the renovation of the historic lakefront property.

The hotel is located in Blevio, and is surrounded by natural beauty, enjoying a private, serene setting on the sunlit shores of the lake, nestled within verdant botanical gardens. Mandarin Oriental acquired the resort, which was previously CastaDiva Resort & Spa, last year.

The 19th Century Villa Roccabruna is at the heart of the resort, which features 21 rooms, 52 suites and two private, stand-alone villas.

Interior designer Eric Egan has overseen the refresh of the resort’s accommodation and public areas, creating a sense of modern Italian elegance and subtle oriental charm.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como is a wellness destination inspired by the pristine water of the lake, and offers its own distinctive selection of heat and water experiences and Mandarin Oriental’s recognised holistic approach to wellbeing.

The facility includes four private spa suites, a beauty studio and a fully equipped Technogym fitness centre.

Extending out from the shoreline, the resort’s swimming pool and spacious sundeck float on the lake.

The lush botanical gardens that surround the resort are home to more than 50 different species of plants, trees and flowers. Italian landscape designer Patrizia Pozzi chose materials and styles that refer to the neoclassical elements of the original Villa and gardens, creating a verdant setting that provides places for private relaxation and escape.

“With its stunning lakeside views, beautiful botanic gardens, amazing thermal bathing facilities – including a floating swimming pool – and al fresco dining using healthy local ingredients, Mandarin Oriental Lake Como delivers the perfect destination for a relaxing wellness retreat,” said Jeremy McCarthy, director of spa and wellness for Mandarin Oriental.
